Since getting my new K850i I've been having to okay the request to sync my contacts each and every time the thing paired up with my Parrot car kit. The option to 'Allow Connection' wasn't available. Sony Ericsson released firmware R1CA037 at the start of December which fixed this bug but frustratingly it took Orange until yesterday to sanction the update via the Sony Ericsson Update Service. I installed it yesterday and it's working so I'm happy. The firmware update also had another go at fixing the sync between flash and camera issue that meant I sometimes got blank black photos when I took pictures in the dark. The previous firmware was meant to fix that but didn't for me.

Sony Ericsson have announced some new phones at the 3GSM World Congress. I'm fancying the K610, the replacement for my current K600i.

It's interesting to see that three out of five phones are larger form factor devices. A sign of things to come? Out of the remaining two, only the K610 is a 'business' handset. The other is a basic candybar phone that is aimed at the no-frills, budget end of the market.

I still think that there's a gap in the market for a no-frills, easy to operate handset that features a large screen capable of displaying text big enough for people to read without their specs on.

The new Bluetooth stereo headset looks interesting too.
