New Ackme Website

I've finally gotton around to updating http://ackme.co.uk/ to Drupal 5. It meant that I had to re-construct the website theme which has taken a little while as I wanted to avoid the hacks and sellotape!

It's W3C compliant:

http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fackme.co.uk%2F

and W3C CSS valid.

New Blackwood Labs Website

I've just put Blackwood Labs' new website live. I took a static html website designed by a third party and Drupal'ised it. I think that it looks good and works well.

There are a couple of extra modules above and beyond the standard Drupal installation. The Content Construction Kit was used to create a new type of content type for customer comments. The front module was used to generate a bespoke front page that doesn't follow the structure of the rest of the website. Taxonomy was used to group the pages on the site into categories, these categories being used to theme the menus, graphics and comment blocks that are displayed on each page.

So without further ado...

garan.org is back

Thanks to everyone that let me know this site was offline last week. Problems with my network registrar's migration to a new supplier meant that garan.org was de-registered. It took them a week to get it back. Not impressed but it could have been worse if it had been one of my customers rather than myself.

mobile.garan.org

I've re-created http://mobile.garan.org/ so that it looks okay on a PDA/phone browser. It's just the central content of this page without the side bars and is based on the http://drupal.org/project/zen theme. Zen is meant to be a good theme to use as a starting block for building my own theme.. Just need some time.

sites

Been working on Mark's website this weekend. I'm trying to make it do things that were completely out of scope of the original project.

It's ramming home that a requirements spec is important even when it's a 'quick site for a mate'.

Oh and it's also ramming home that there's no such things as a 'quick site for a mate'.

The original website was a couple of pages with a login facility that users could access to download files. It's a long way from that now..
