I signed up for Carphone Warehouse’s Talk Talk telephone service about six months ago. Until this weekend it has been entirely faultless and transparent in use until yesterday afternoon when it took me three goes to get through to Mum and Dad’s landline number. I thought it was a fault at my end but when I couldn’t make a call this morning I contacted Talk Talk’s helpdesk. They told me that there was a fault with lines in Hampshire and that they were working on it. In the meantime I should prefix my calls with 1280.
It’s a bit worrying that it still isn’t fixed tonight (about 11pm).
