The not so mighty Quins

I went to The Stoop for the first time yesterday to watch Quins -v- Northampton in a Zurich Premiership match. Went with Dave, Vicky, Kieren and Ginny who are all Northampton season ticket holders.

I had a ticket in the front row of the new North Stand, behind the posts. It was a beautiful day and I was impressed with the stadium.

Quins started out on top and there were a couple of worried faces around me as the Quins ran a try in within the first 10 minutes. But Northampton rallied and spent the rest of the first half camped firmly in the Quins half, laying siege to their 22. Northampton’s hard work paid off and by half time they had scored some well earned tries. At least that’s how it looked from my seat behind the wrong posts!

The second half was fairly uneventful. As the half wore on the Quins started to lose heart I felt and were defending their loss. Northampton, with their try count bonus point already in the bag, were happy to defend too.

The final score was Quins 13 Northampton 45.
