Half a review

Reading Designing with Web Standards by Jeffrey Zeldman at the moment.

Reading text books isn’t my normal fayre, but I seem to be progressing nicely through this one. It’s all about using XHTML and CSS standards to build websites that are low on bandwidth requirements and compatlible with most browsers. Zeldman’s style is free and easy, with the odd funny dropped in to make the book an easy read.

I’ve come across the concepts before, but only now am I starting to understand how simple it is to use the concepts to build good looking sites that load quickly and are fairly easy to maintain.

I’ll let you know how I get on with it and point you to my first attempt at a website.
